Facing My Fractals

The definition of a fractal is a complex pattern that emerges from self-similar or identical contours that repeat at every level of scale from infinitely large to infinitely small in an ever continuous cycle.

That’s a fancy way of saying that what happens in our nervous systems, repeats in our ecosystems, financial systems, internal family systems, political systems, and our solar system, to name a few. We all struggle with repeating patterns in our lives: co-dependence, addiction, self-sabotage, or just rigidly not allowing ourselves to try a new brand of tea. Facing My Fractals is your oasis for philosophical, irreverent, unflinchingly honest reflections on the state of our world, our state of being, and how that informs our way of being in the world. And most importantly, how to S.H.I.F.T. and let hope persevere. Patterns repeat. And when we change one small part, that change has no choice but to ripple through the whole. Facing our fractals is self-awareness. Accepting our fractals allows them to change. And changing our fractals is the radical activism that changes the world.
